in the market place for an easier way to install large areas of
Brick Paving.
Machine Lay
This paving method
provides all the benefits to the client/end user and performs
better than
Asphalt or mass concrete. It is very
cost effective, offers flexibility for early use and is not affected
by oil, salt or heat.
From a standing start only four years ago
Gibson Contracts now have four Probst paving machines currently
working on various contracts laying paving bricks by mechanical
means.
Although this system is relatively new to
Ireland, mechanical paving systems have been used throughout
Europe for over 20 years.

The system has been developed in order
to achieve a production rate of up to 500m² per day
on site. This has therefore attracted the attention of large
construction companies and developers as a means to meet
the ever decreasing timescale for the complications of building
projects. Gibson Contracts have worked very closely with
Tobermore Concrete to encourage the use of machine lay products.
There are now a number of machine lay paving products available
in a variety of styles and colours to suit most applications.
